Luxembourg’s cosmopolitan flair can be seen on the street as well as on the plate. Chefs from all over the world have set up shop here, concocting dishes that will have you salivating with anticipation. Italy, Peru, Argentina or simply Brittany have a thousand flavors for you to discover. In Luxembourg, you can even try a dinner in the dark! Here are 5 must-try restaurants:

1. The Veranda

Located less than five minutes’ drive from the city center, in the Howald district, La Véranda offers excellent pizzas and first-rate Italian and French cuisine. The service is fast and efficient, and the staff make you feel right at home. The restaurant also offers home delivery and takeaway.

2. Mad About Peru, Hollerich

A glass of Pisco sour, a plate of quinoto con hongos or ceviche nikkei and you’re whisked away to the Andes. Peru awaits you in this restaurant run by an attentive and passionate team. Gourmet and surprising cuisine, Peruvian gastronomy has been inspired by many cultures and fused them together, to our great delight. Behind glass, you can see the cooks busily cooking ultra-fresh produce.

The restaurant isn’t large, so it’s best to make a reservation.

3. Cafetin de Buenos Aires

Cafetin de Buenos Aires is the ideal place to meet up with friends over a glass of Argentine wine and a grilled rib steak. Once through the door, you’ll feel like you’re in one of Argentina’s typical cafés, where you’ll want to spend evenings chatting and reminiscing. The remarkable quality of the meat and the extensive wine list will win you over. Pleasant terrace in fine weather.

4. Restaurant Matelots

Brittany has arrived in Luxembourg with chef Jean-Baptiste Séror, straight from Saint-Malo. In this “brasserie fine bretonne”, the galette de sarrazin takes pride of place and is revisited to create delicious dishes. Fish are not forgotten either: tuna, mackerel, sardines… A marine tavern atmosphere and impeccable service. You’ll even find artisanal cider, Breton of course.
