For its 30th edition, the ‘Summer in the City’ programme transforms Luxembourg City into a veritable cultural, festive and sporting playground. From 13 June to 19 September 2025, the capital will be hosting events for all ages and tastes: open-air concerts, cinema under the stars, creative workshops, outdoor yoga, and more.

And the good news? Many activities are completely free! Whether you’re visiting or a local, travelling solo or with your family, here is our selection of the 10 best free events to enjoy this summer in the heart of the city.

  1. CONCERTS – GROOVES STATION

Just a stone’s throw from our Kazakiwi hotel, Gare Grooves brings the neighbourhood to life every Thursday from 15 May to 28 August 2025, from 6pm to 7.30pm, on the station forecourt. Every week, a free concert featuring jazz, classical or Latin music transforms the square into a veritable urban stage. A wonderful way to start the evening, with music and in the open air.

  1. YOGA CLASSES – ARTFUL FLOW

Want to take a wellness break during your stay in Luxembourg? The Artful Flow programme offers outdoor yoga sessions in a unique setting, opposite the Mudam. Join us on Thursdays 10, 17, 24 and 31 July and 7 August 2025, from 12 noon to 1 p.m., at Parc Dräi Eechelen. Free and open to all levels, this moment of calm in the heart of the city is perfect for refocusing between visits. Just remember to bring your mat!

  1. SUMMER OP DER GËLLE FRA

From 4 July to 14 September 2025, Summer op der Gëlle Fra will take over Constitution Square with a friendly summer atmosphere. Live concerts, DJ sets, food stalls, a pétanque court, an outdoor reading corner and children’s entertainment will punctuate this unmissable summer event. A lively place where you can relax, have fun and enjoy the city in a different way.

  1. CONCERT – BLUES AND JAZZ RALLY

On Saturday 19 July 2025, from 4 p.m. onwards, the Blues’n’Jazz Rallye will bring the Grund and Clausen districts to life. Concerts will be held in the streets, bars and iconic squares, creating a festive atmosphere filled with blues, jazz and soul music. A unique evening in the heart of the old town.

  1. CULTURAL WORKSHOPS – LËTZEBUERG CITY MUSEUM

From 16 July to 14 September 2025, the Lëtzebuerg City Museum is offering a programme of cultural and creative activities for all audiences. Workshops, tours, artistic events… whether you come alone, with family or friends, this is an opportunity to discover the city in a different way, in an inspiring setting in the heart of the historic centre.

  1. BIG SCREEN SCREENING – UEFA WOMEN’S EURO

During UEFA Women’s Euro 2025, several matches will be broadcast on a big screen at Champ du Glacis from the quarter-finals onwards, starting on 16 July 2025. This is a great opportunity to experience the intensity of the competition in a friendly outdoor atmosphere.

  1. OPEN-AIR CINEMA – CITY OPEN AIR CINEMA

From 24 to 31 July 2025, the City Open Air Cinema returns to Place Guillaume II with a selection of cult and recent films screened at dusk. An open-air cinema experience in the heart of the city under the stars.

  1. ACTIVITIES FOR CHILDREN – KANNER IN THE CITY

On 1 and 2 August 2025, the city centre will come alive with Kanner in the City, an event dedicated to children. Games, workshops and fun activities will take over the main squares for two afternoons of outdoor fun.

  1. THE BIG FUNFAIR – SCHUEBERFOUER

From 22 August to 10 September 2025, the Champ du Glacis will host the Schueberfouer, a great Luxembourgish tradition combining fairground rides, delicacies and a festive atmosphere. Every year, thousands of visitors gather here to enjoy this iconic funfair, which brings the summer to a spectacular close.

  1. CONCERTS – PLËSS IN CONCERT

Finally, Plëss in Concert rounds off the selection with its open-air concerts on Place d’Armes, held every Friday and Saturday evening from 12 July to 6 September 2025. Jazz, pop, classical music… a relaxed musical atmosphere to enjoy beautiful summer evenings in the heart of the city.
