Every year since 1340, the Schueberfouer has transformed the Champ du Glacis into the largest funfair in the Greater Region. In 2026, it returns from 21 August to 9 September, featuring over 200 fairground operators, thrilling rides and a unique family-friendly atmosphere. Here’s everything you need to know to enjoy it to the full.
Schueberfouer 2026: dates, opening times and new features
The funfair opens its doors on Friday 21 August 2026 at 6.30 pm with the opening ceremony and the traditional ‘Ham a Kuch’. It runs until Wednesday 9 September, every day from 12 noon to 1 am, with food stalls open from 11 am.
This year’s fair features 214 attractions, including eight new additions, ranging from Ferris wheels and rollercoasters to family rides and food stalls. More than two million visitors are expected across the four hectares of the Champ du Glacis, making it one of the most popular summer events in Luxembourg City.
How to get there easily
To avoid traffic jams around Limpertsberg, the City of Luxembourg strongly recommends using public transport:
Tram (line T1): the Theater or Faïencerie stops, providing direct access to the fairground.
Special shuttle bus (route 37): connecting the park-and-ride car parks (P+R) to the site.
On foot: depending on where you live, the Glacis can be reached in about 20 minutes from several neighbourhoods in the city centre.

A moment for residents to share
The Schueberfouer is also a great opportunity to strengthen ties with your Flexiroom neighbours. Many residents take the chance to organise a group outing: this is often one of the best ways to discover local life in Luxembourg when you’ve just arrived, whilst enjoying a friendly get-together with the community.
Whether you’ve been in Luxembourg for a few weeks or several months, this traditional event is a lovely way to feel fully integrated into the city that has welcomed you.
